Invites

Invite flow, expiry, and open vs closed team mechanics.

How Invites Work

SimpleTeams supports two join models: open and invite-only. The invite system can be disabled entirely in config if you only want open teams.

1

Send Invite

A Moderator or Leader runs /team invite <player>. The target must not already be in a team.

2

Receive Notification

The invited player sees a message with the team name and inviter. They can accept or deny.

3

Accept or Deny

The player runs /team accept to join, or /team deny to decline. Denying notifies the inviter.

Expiry

Invites automatically expire after invites.expire-seconds (default 60 seconds). An expired invite is silently removed and the invited player is notified.

You can only have one pending invite at a time. Sending a new invite overwrites any existing pending invite from the same team.

Open vs Closed Teams

Teams can toggle their join policy:

  • Open — Anyone can join with /team join
  • Closed — Requires an invite or admin bypass permission

Use /team open and /team close to toggle. Both require Moderator rank or higher.
