EssentialsC / Item Commands

Item Commands

Repair, rename, enchant, and inspect items in your inventory.

Overview

Item commands let you manipulate items in your hand or inventory - repairing tools and armour, renaming items with MiniMessage formatting, adding and removing enchantments, wearing items as a hat, and looking up item details.

Repair

Command Description
/repair [player] Repair the item in your hand. Admin targeting repairs the target's held item.

/repair works on any damageable item including tools, weapons, armour, and Elytra. The command has a configurable cooldown and can be blocked for specific materials. Unbreakable items are skipped.

Rename

Command Description
/rename [name] Rename the item in your hand. Use without a name to reset to default.

Supports MiniMessage formatting for colors, gradients, and decorations. Renamed items retain their custom name through anvils and grindstones. The rename blacklist and max length are configurable.

Enchant & Unenchant

Command Description
/enchant <enchantment> [level] Add an enchantment to the held item at the given level (defaults to max).
/unenchant [enchantment] Remove a specific enchantment, or all enchantments if none specified.

Enchantment levels above the vanilla maximum require the unsafe bypass permission. The enchantment names use the standard Bukkit key format (e.g. sharpness, protection, unbreaking).

Enchanting with unsafe levels may cause unexpected behaviour with some plugins that expect vanilla enchantment levels. Use with caution.

Hat

Command Description
/hat Wear the item in your hand as a hat, swapping with your current helmet slot.

Certain items can be blocked from being worn as a hat via the material blacklist. The binding curse is applied to prevent the item from being removed accidentally if configured.

Other Item Commands

Command Description Permission
/itemid Show detailed information about the item in your hand - material, durability, enchantments, NBT. essentialsc.itemid
/clearinventory [player] Clear your or another player's entire inventory including armour and offhand. essentialsc.clearinventory
/worth [inventory] Check the total shop value of items in your hand or entire inventory. essentialsc.worth
